Okay so. This may differ depending on where you are from, but several years ago, McDonald’s got rid of their beloved bagel sandwich. (The steak one was actually my favorite, but that will be another post, hehe.) So I did a little venturing and tried to make most of this in my air fryer. I say most because the egg was actually made in the microwave, but if you get a silicone bowl that fits your air fryer, you can totally use that and make it all in one. If your nearby McDonald’s locations have also discontinued this treat, I hope. you may get to enjoy it again, too!

Air Fryer Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Bagel Sandwich – Micky D’s Style
A McDonald's treat, that was sadly discontinued, brought back to life. Breakfast Sauce included! 🙂
Equipment
- Air-Fryer
- Microwave or Silicone Bowl that fits your air fryer.
Ingredients
Bagel Sandwich
- 1 Plain store bought bagel. (It can be the cheap ones, because I am pretty sure that is what they used anyways. We used ALDI brand bagels.)
- Butter for spreading on bagel
- 1 slice American Cheese
- 1-2 Precooked Breakfast Sausage Patties
- 1 Large Egg, beaten
Breakfast Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Mayo
- Sprinkle Dill Weed
- 2 Tsp Yellow Mustard
Instructions
- Preheat your Air Fryer to 390 Degrees
- If you have a trivet/rack for your air fryer, this is great to use because you can fit in more items at one time. I took my sausage and placed it at the bottom of the air fryer basket.
- Butter your bagels and put cheese slice on the top bagel. Put them on top of the trivet with sausage below it. Air fry for 6 minutes.
- If you have a silicone bowl for your air fryer, go ahead and put the beaten egg in there. If not, put it in a small ramekin and microwave for just about a minute.
- MEanwhile, because bagels and sausages may still be cooking, and its okay if you already cooked your egg. Keep it in the microwave, the ramekin should keep it plenty warm in the mean time.
- While bagel and sausage is still cooking, in a small bowl, mix your mayo, mustard and dill weed. This plays as the breakfasrt sauce they used to place on their sandwiches. (Soooo good!)
- Once bagel and sausage are cooked, first take your bagels out and put on a plate. Spread breakfast sauce on both sides. Follow with putting your sausage and egg on sandwich. Enjoy!
