Crispy and Buttery Tilapia
Ingredients
- 1-2 Filets of Tilapia
- 1/2 Cup Flour
Seasonings to liking for both fish AND flour –
- Salt
- Pepper
- Seasoning Salt
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Paul Prudhomme's Seafood Magic Seasoning
- Olive Oil for Cooking Fish
- Salted Butter for Baking Fish at end (I will get into how much in instructions)
- 1/2 Cup Panko
Seasonings for Panko to liking
- Salt
- Pepper
- Seasoning Salt
- Garlic Powder
- Onion Powder
- Grey Poupon or favorite mustard condiment for topping.
- Optional: favorite herb for garnishment.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix Panko and seasonings listed above with a little olive oil and mix well to combine. Set aside.
- Add your flour to a shallow dish. Season your flour with seasonings listed above, to liking. Whisks together and set aside.
- Pat dry tilapia and season with seasonings listed above, to liking. Rub in to coat well.
- Dredge Tilapia in seasoned flour and on medium heat on a skillet with some olive oil – cook about 3-4 minutes per side.
- On a baking sheet – for each filet of fish, lay down two "pats" of butter. Lay filets on each two pats of butter.
- Add some panko mixture on the top of the filets to coat the top.
- Put fish in oven for 10 minutes.
- Take out and enjoy!
- Garnish with favorite mustard condiment and herbs, if desired.
